Promoting of Art & Artists …….
I decided to develop my interest in art. I created a small studio on 2nd floor of our office. Kept a tutor to teach me the basics of painting. I joined J.J. School of Arts, the most reputed College of Fine Arts in the country, for a special hobby course of about a year. I think, I was the most senior student of the class of around 50 to 60 people. I tried my level best to paint the way I wanted to. But after a year and utilising 40-50 small canvases and 200 papers, I realized that creating a painting was not my cup of tea. I would better only appreciate art.

I come from the industrial background, where maximum production is of prime importance. It was not possible for me to create a small piece of artwork over a period of 4-5 days. My conscious was to produce 4-5 pieces in a day. It was not possible.

Art is good and precious. It is provocative. While pursuing my art education at the prestigious J. J. School of Arts, I met several other artists, young, budding, senior and established as well. Amongst them Hemant Dhane, my tutor and a J. J. Alumnus, impressed me the most. He introduced me to several other artist friends of his. He also introduced me to one Ms. Bellina David, who was not an artist herself, but was acquainted with several senior and younger artists. Visiting Jehangir Art Gallery regularly had become a routine.

Senior artists like Shri Jatin Das and lalita Lazmi, Vinod Sharma and Deepak Shinde, Vidhya Sagar Upadhyay and Vinay Sharma, attended my first camp. Shri Kashmiri Khosa impressed me the most with his pleasing personality and positive approach. I can’t express my thanks to all these artists in words, it is because of them that I was driven towards the world of art.
